Billy Kenny is a British DJ, engineer and producer who operates in his own nether region where UK garage, house and techno all collide. It is there that the more aggressive lower frequencies that inspire him reside, and there that he makes dance floors move. Proving the point are tracks of his like the big hitting, chart climbing “Work”, with its heavy bass and festival shaking grooves. That one came back in August 2014 but since then he has continued to serve up successful club bombs on labels like Sweat It Out, the Stateside Dirtybird run by Claude Vonstroke and the label This Aint Bristol that he co-runs with a friend.

Originally born and bred in the north of England dance hub that is Leeds, he now lives on the other side of the channel in Germany. But it is fair to say that is sound remains more indebted to the UK and the dance heritage of Radio 1 than the pummelling techno of Berlin’s famous Berghain club. As such out in Germany he is a lone but influential voice when it comes to heavy bass and low end frequencies. That finds him getting booked far and wide, playing on four continents on a non stop basis. With his friends, his label This Aint Bristol continues to flourish and win fans in high places, just as it has done since 2014. With a high quality output that pushes a pumping brand of beats, the label is another feather in Billy’s bow. As a DJ, he is just as on point and edits, loops, samples and cuts up his selections in singular yet assured ways.
